What your purchase does
The Bookstore is a social enterprise. Buying here is different from donating: you get a book, and COAL's share of the sale goes into its charitable work.
Back a learner
Bookstore income supports COAL's grassroots education work, including community educators and reading programmes.
Support African writers
We stock and champion African authors, including new voices from our own creative community.
Build a reading culture
Book readings, book clubs and book-to-film screenings bring readers and writers together.
