Libraries and reading

Books open doors

Children read more when books are close at hand. We set up school libraries, run book clubs and create safe spaces where children and young people can read, learn and imagine.

Why it matters

Catching up is only the start

Our education work helps children learn to read. Libraries and reading programmes help them keep reading, for school and for pleasure, long after a catch-up class ends.
